Leesburg offers COVID-19 payment plan for utility customers

The City of Leesburg is offering a special payment plan for all customers amid the Coronavirus crisis.

Customers who call to set up a payment plan will have until Dec. 31 to pay their outstanding utility bills. Leesburg also paused disconnects for non-payment and late fees in mid-March to provide financial relief to customers during the pandemic.

Disconnects for nonpayment will resume Monday, June 15. Late fees will continue to be waived until further notice. Customers who set up a payment plan and continue to pay their current bill, plus the payment arrangement, will not be disconnected.

Customers wanting to set up a payment plan should call Customer Service at (352) 728-9800 to make a payment arrangement. The city’s call center is open Monday–Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Customers who still are having trouble paying their utility bill should contact Customer Service to see what additional payment assistance programs may be available.

More information about Leesburg’s continuing response to COVID-19 and resources can be found at www.leesburgflorida.gov.
