Frank Louis Dickerson, 89 of Leesburg passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

Frank was born in Miami, Florida on December 27, 1934 to Henry and Herminie Maloney Dickerson. He attended local schools and worked at his father’s service station, developing his mechanical and automotive skills. Frank utilized those skills when he joined the United States Marine Corps and trained to be an aircraft mechanic.

He served aboard an aircraft carrier in the western Pacific and completed his active duty in 1959. His lifelong career was with the Miami Water Department until his retirement. Frank’s outside interests were varied: he flew and collected remote controlled planes and he loved seeing our beautiful country from the windshield of his recreational vehicle. After his retirement Frank found the sport he loved the most, Moto Cross motorcycle racing. In the Senior division, Frank earned many trophies for his Moto Cross successes.

He will be fondly missed by all of the people who cared so much about him.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel at 1123 West Main St. in Leesburg. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL with military honors.
