Robert Edward Manning, 76, of Leesburg, FL, passed away with his family by his side on April 20, 2024. Robert was born on June 8, 1947, in Oswego, NY to his loving parents; Gerard and Elsie (Sterling) Manning.

Robert was a proud veteran of the United States Army, he took two voluntary tours in Vietnam and was known by friends and family “The Great American”. Robert was a lifetime member of VFW as well as a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Oswego, NY, a graduate of SUNY, and a loyal brother of Phi Sigma Phi and also played on the horn line in the Syracuse Brigadiers Drum and Bugle Corps for seven years.

Robert was a dedicated supervisor of nuclear power plant operators for many years until his retirement in 2003. Following his retirement, he and his wife, Emilie, moved to Florida in 2007. Robert was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Leesburg, FL. Robert and Emilie enjoyed spending their time traveling, they have visited every state in the U.S. and many countries. Robert was also a proud member of the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club, he was an avid motorcyclist and even traveled across country on his motorcycle.

Robert will be missed by many and remembered fondly for being a loving and dutiful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Emilie Manning, his three children; Colleen (Greg), Robert (Katrinka) and Patrick, as well as two precious grandchildren: Tyler and Nathan, a brother; Paul Manning, and several loving nieces and nephews.
