Lake Technical College welcomes new healthcare programs director

Lake Technical College has announced the appointment of Melissa Terry as the new healthcare programs coordinator.

Terry brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, poised to enhance the educational experience for students pursuing careers in the healthcare field. In her new position, she will oversee the coordination and development of healthcare programs offered at Lake Technical College, ensuring that students receive comprehensive and high-quality education that aligns with industry standards and prepares them for successful careers. 

With a background in nursing leadership, Terry is well-equipped to lead initiatives that promote student success and foster collaboration between faculty, staff and industry partners. Her dedication to advancing education in the healthcare sector makes her a valuable addition to the college. 

“We are delighted to welcome Melissa to our team,” said DeAnna Thomas, executive director at Lake Technical College. “Her passion for nursing education and her deep understanding of the healthcare industry will undoubtedly benefit our students as they pursue their professional career goals. Her appointment marks an exciting new chapter for the college as it continues to be a premier provider of workforce training.” 

Terry expressed her enthusiasm for her new role, stating, “I am honored to join Lake Tech and contribute to the success of its healthcare programs. I look forward to working closely with students, faculty and industry partners to ensure that our programs remain at the forefront of innovation and excellence.” 

Terry holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Florida and has 10 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She has previously worked in a variety of roles in a hospital setting and has also served as a higher education nursing faculty member.
