Martha Elberta Lovett, 88, of Mount Dora, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024.

Born in Orlando, Florida to the late Elbert M. and Martha Ivey, she was a lifelong resident of the Central Florida area. In fact, her father’s family was one of the first seven families in Orlando.

Elberta attended the University of Florida and was a Gator fan. She loved baseball and followed the Rays and Braves. She was the pianist and organist for Walnut Street Baptist Church, Orlando as well as an accomplished accompanist. Elberta had a passion for ministering to the youth, she even drove a big blue school bus to take them places. She was a member of Life Community Church, Eustis.

She is survived by her 2 daughters, Debby Hunt, Mount Dora, FL, Darlene DeBock, Mount Dora, FL; sister-in-law, Bette Ra Ivey, Largo, FL; 3 grandchildren, Mitch (Jennica) Hunt, Jeff (Ashleigh) Hunt, Dori (Matthew) Byrd; 3 great-grandchildren, Ethan Hunt, Tyler Gatewood, Eli Gatewood; several nieces & nephews. Elberta was also preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Lovett; brother, Marvin L. Ivey; grandson, Brandon DeBock.
