Robert E. Oberholtzer

Robert E. Oberholtzer passed away at home peacefully on January 4.

Robert was born in Leesburg, FL and graduated from Leesburg High School. He joined the Airforce and served from 1954 – 1959. He obtained his Bachelor and Master of Education from the University of Florida. After graduating he taught history at Carver Heights High and was subsequently a guidance counselor at Carver Middle for 34 years. His family lived in the Leesburg area for generations and it was the place he called home for 89 years. He had a love of Lake County and Palmora Park.

He is survived by wife, Sandra, daughters Amanda and Linda, son David, 3 grandsons and 5 great-grandsons.

Funeral services will be held at the South Florida National Cemetery, in Wellington, FL on January 31st at 3pm. He will receive a military honors funeral for his service to this great nation. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Trustbridge Hospice Care of South Florida or Morrison United Methodist Church of Leesburg.
