Leesburg, FL – John (Jack) Henry Daly, age 85, of Leesburg, FL, and formerly of Pompey, NY, passed away on November 25, 2023, from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. Born on December 13, 1937, Jack was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and community member.

Jack is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Florence Ann Daly, and their six children: Anne Metzger-Wormuth (David), John Daly (Renee), Kathie Flechaus (Bill), Mary Thompson (Donald), Margaret Wright, and Kara Mack (Jeff). His legacy lives on through 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Daly and her children.

Jack attended Norwich University. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserve.

Jack dedicated 45 years as a volunteer Paramedic, EMT, and Firefighter as part of the Pompey Hill Fire Department. He was also a skilled woodworker, leaving behind beautiful creations. Jack co-founded the Fabius-Pompey Outreach in 1988, a community support organization that he cared deeply about. He also served on the Fabius-Pompey Central School District School Board, contributing to local education.

Remembered for his kindness and hard work, Jack’s impact on his community and family is profound. We’ll honor his memory during a Celebration of Life to be held at the Dan Gordon Hall at 100 Hawthorne Boulevard in Leesburg on Saturday, December 16 from 12 pm – 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Fabius-Pompey Outreach (https://fpoutreach.org), continuing Jack’s legacy of helping others or Mary’s Meals (https://www.marysmealsusa.org).
