United Way encourages community to help ‘Stuff the Bus’ for holidays

United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties invites the public to come fill up its bus with toys to deliver to local families for the holidays.

To help “Stuff the Bus,” bring new and wrapped toys to the Mission United bus, which will be parked from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 2 in the Mt. Dora Walmart parking lot at 17030 U.S. Highway 411.

Toys can also be dropped off or sent to the UWLS office on or before Dec. 1, located at 32644 Blossom Lane in Leesburg. Those who would prefer to donate funds to support Stuff the Bus can do so at uwls.org/donate.

UWLS has partnered with the Kiwanis Club of Umatilla and the Tavares Police Department to identify the local families in need.

United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties services needs in the areas of economic mobility, education and health in both counties and facilitates and delivers a number of direct services and programs.
