A Brooksville man with a history of driving without a valid license was charged with it again after he was stopped for speeding in Howey-in-the-Hills.

An officer observed 38-year-old Timothy Lamont Gaynor speeding westbound on County Road 48 at about 11:01 p.m Friday, Sept. 1, according to an arrest report from the Howey-in-the-Hills Police Department.

Gaynor was found to be going 56 miles per hour in a 40-mph zone, the report said. Due to this, the officer initiated a traffic stop on the silver Toyota Camry and spoke with him.

A search of Gaynor’s driving revealed that his license was suspended March 14 with a cease tag order, the report said. A further search revealed a suspension in April and five previous driving while license suspended incidents, according to the report.

Gaynor was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended (failed to pay). He was also issued a civil citation for speeding. He was transported to the Lake County Jail and released after posting $1,000 bond.
