A Lady Lake man was arrested for drug possession after being caught trespassing in front of a closed business in Leesburg.

An officer observed three suspicious individuals near the front entrance of a closed business in a shopping center at 2241 Citrus Boulevard at about 9:11 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

Two of the subjects refused to identify themselves, with the exception of 47-year-old Jamey Alan Anderson. The officer was notified Anderson was previously trespassed from the property in 2019. He was arrested and placed in front of the officer’s patrol car to be searched as a result, the report said.

During the search, Anderson advised the officer that he had stuff in his right pocket. The officer reached into the pocket and pulled out a black pouch that contained two yellow baggies and a glass pipe. Inside one of the baggies was .6 grams of a green leafy substance, while the other contained .9 grams of a clear glass-like substance. These tested positive for marijuana and methamphetamine, respectively, according to the report.

The Michigan native was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and trespass (after warning). He was taken to the Lake County Jail with bond set at $5,000.
