Doris B. Johnson passed away on August 18th, 2023 at her home in Fruitland Park, Florida.

She was born on October 11th, 1930 to Thomas Arland and Gertrude Banks in Glennville, Georgia. She moved to Leesburg at a young age. She was a 1947 graduate of Leesburg High School. In 1951 she married the love of her life, J.B. “Jimmy” Johnson and together they raised two sons. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a kind and considerate person and a true and loyal friend. She had a strong work ethic being employed by Florida Telephone, Carver Middle School and Lake Community Hospital. Clearly, the world was a better place because of her. She believed in her Lord and Savior Jesus and she is now in his safe-guard for eternity in accordance with the perfect plan.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 35 years, J.B. Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Cliff Johnson (Joyce) of Fruitland Park, Chuck Johnson (Lisa) of Lady Lake; her grandchildren Amy Robbins (Matt); Isaac Johnson (Amy); Michael Johnson & Jayme Johnson and her two great-grandchildren; Charlotte and Russell Johnson.

A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at four (4) p.m. at New Life Presbyterian Church. The family request that in in lieu of flowers, Doris’ life and memory be celebrated with a donation to Compassionate Care Hospice of Lake and Sumter, Inc.
