A Leesburg man was arrested for driving while his license was revoked, including several active suspensions and revocations.

A deputy observed 50-year-old Michael Jay Whitton driving southbound on West Burleigh Boulevard at about 10:11 a.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The deputy ran Whitton’s plate and license and learned he had a revoked license, the report said. In fact, Whitton held five active suspensions and revocations, including one for DUI in December 2022. A traffic stop was conducted, and he was taken into custody.

Whitton was charged with driving while license revoked for DUI (3rd subsequent violation). He was transported to the Lake County Jail and released after posting $10,000 bond.
