Leesburg motorcyclist killed after running off road and hitting tree

A Leesburg motorcyclist was killed after running off the road and hitting a tree.

The 60-year-old man had been riding a 2019 Harley-Davidson Street Glide at 9:02 p.m. Sunday traveling westbound on Plantation Boulevard at The Plantation Leesburg Golf Club when he ran off the road and struck a tree, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

He was transported to Blue Cedar ER Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
