Ray Wilson, 83, passed away on May 26, 2023, in Tavares, Florida. He was born on June 1, 1939, in LaFollette, Tennessee, to Delmas Wilson and Mecie Ayers. Ray was a hardworking, kind-hearted, and loyal person who loved to travel and make people laugh. He loved going to church, reading, and learning new things. Ray had a passion for coffee and enjoyed tender steak, but most of all, he loved his family and his home state of Tennessee.

Ray is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janice Wilson, son and daughter-in-law Stephen Curt and Cheryl, grandson Tristan Curt, granddaughter Alison, two brothers Jim and Ron Wilson, two sisters, Lois Rains and Sandra Kitts, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Delmas, Mother, Mecie, brothers, Delmas Jr., Kenneth, and Ernest.

Ray attended Willow Run High School and served in the US Army from April 1963 to March 1969. He was proud of his military associations.

Ray worshipped at numerous places of worship, including Willow Run Church of God in Ypsilanti, MI, Celebration of Praise in Clermont, FL, and Faithpoint in Oakland, FL.

Ray loved to travel, read maps, gardening, and learn about various corporations. He lived a fulfilling life and will be missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares. A memorial service for Ray will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:00AM.
