An Orlando woman was arrested after she and her husband were caught sleeping outside a Leesburg McDonald’s with drugs in a rental vehicle.

Officers responded to the restaurant, located at 27422 U.S. Hwy. 27, around 7:19 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Two people were reportedly sleeping in a 2023 Chevrolet Malibu that had been there for quite some time.

Upon arrival, officers observed the occupants of the rental vehicle. Christina Lynn Gallihugh, 43, and her husband were awakened when the officers knocked on the windows. Once they were awake and identified, the occupants were asked to step out of the vehicle, the report said.

The pair were then searched and spoken to separately. While Gallihugh was being searched, she reached into her right pocket and started moving the items inside around. The officer searching Gallihugh noticed her holding a small round container with a zip lock bag inside with a brown rock-like substance, according to the report.

The officer asked Gallihugh for the container, and she handed it over. She was placed into handcuffs as the search continued. Her front right pocket also contained a small glass container with a crystal-like substance, the report said.

The vehicle was searched next, and the officers first noticed a glass smoking device with white rock-like residue inside lying on the floorboard where Gallihugh’s feet were before she exited the vehicle. They then found a small black plastic safe with a combination lock in the center console. After being read their rights, Gallihugh and her husband agreed to speak about the safe and gave the officers the combination, according to the report.

The safe was opened using the code and inside were three glass pipes and one metal pipe used to smoke illicit narcotics. A small plastic wrapper with white rock-like substance was also found. In total, officers collected 2.1 grams of a white rock-like substance from the safe and 1 gram of the same substance in the glass container. This tested positive for methamphetamine. The brown rock-like substance weighed .3 grams and tested positive for heroin, the report said.

The Ohio native was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, heroin, and drug paraphernalia. She was transported to the Lake County Jail after completing the booking process. Bond was set at $5,000.
