A woman was arrested Tuesday after calling in a threat to blow up Leesburg City Hall.

Kiesha Jacqueline Hopkins, 22, had gone to the Leesburg Police Department to meet with an officer regarding a trespass warning. Hopkins used the lobby phone to call dispatch and said “Let’s play a game. Who can get to city hall before it blows up?”

Hopkins then sprinted to the Leesburg City Hall on Meadow Street.

When the police got to city hall they were directed by city employees to the third floor. Hopkins was found sitting at a desk in the council chambers with playing cards spread around her.

Officers escorted Hopkins out of the building and searched her. No explosives were found on her person or in the building. She was placed under arrest and taken to the police station for booking for the offense of making a bomb threat to state property.

When Hopkins was questioned she told the officers that “no one would pay attention to her” and that she “likes to scare people.” according to the police report.

Hopkins was booked at the Lake County Jail on $5,000 bond.
