Gerald (Jerry)Lee Baar, age 82, of Fruitland Park, FL, passed away with his wife (Patsy) at his side on November 30, 2022.

Jerry was born on February 11,1940 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. A husband, father, brother, uncle, grandpa, great grand father, cousin and friend to many. Jerry was a man with a contagious laugh who made every interaction special. The person in the family everyone couldn’t wait to see. He was bright-eyed, handsome, square-jawed, with a mischievous smile and warm hugs. He had a quick wit and when he teased you, it was always done with love. He was a true renaissance man; he could do anything he set his mind to. There was always a genuine smile on his face when around his grandchildren.

Jerry loved racing. In his early days he raced in an Enduro race in Michigan. He sponsored stock cars and enjoyed working on them. In his “later years” he loved NASCAR and went to the races in Michigan. He was a “handy man” who had a project everyday of his life. On his final day he was stringing lights in the Lanai of his home.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Tobias and Ruth, two sisters Lorraine and Esther, his brother Bob and two step children Chris and Barb.

He is survived by his wife Patsy of 36 years. Three sons Mike, Tom and John. Seven step children Donna, Bob, Kerey, Steve, Linda, Dave, Rick, 38 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on December 4th at Harbor Oaks Clubhouse, 11 Harbor Oaks Drive, Fruitland Park Fl 34731
