A Leesburg woman was arrested Saturday night after allegedly slamming her fist into her man friend’s face.

The man said that he and 33-year-old Evelyn Nicole Godfrey had been arguing about their relationship when Godfrey hit him with her fist. The man went outside the residence located in the 400 block of June Drive in Leesburg and called 911.

When a Leesburg police officer arrived on the scene, he found that the man had swelling near his left eye and his eyeball appeared to be red, according to the arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

After being placed under arrest, Godfrey was taken to the police station where she said that she had gotten “fed up” with her man friend constantly questioning her, so she hit him in the face.

Godfrey was transported to the Lake County Jail where she was released on her promise to appear in court.
