A Leesburg man was arrested after allegedly pointing a gun during a road rage incident.
Lake County sheriff’s deputies were sent Sunday afternoon to the Holiday RV Park on County Road 33 after dispatch received a 911 call regarding a man with a gun.
The deputy made contact with three individuals who said that a man, later identified as 67-year-old Brent Ashley Marshall had tried to run them off the road. They said they were driving down U.S.Hwy. 27 when they were forced into the opposite lane by the driver of a blue Yukon SUV. They followed the Yukon as it drove erratically to the Holiday RV Park where they called the sheriff’s office after Marshall slammed on his brakes, jumped out of the Yukon and aimed a black pistol at them. All three individuals felt their lives were endangered by Marshall’s actions.
The gate attendant told deputies that Marshall was agitated when he came through the gate. The three people told the gate attendant what they had seen and called for assistance from the deputies. The park manager told the deputies that Marshal lived in the park and gave them his address.
When questioned by the deputies, Marshall said the people following him had been driving erratically. The Illinois native denied pointing a gun at the people and said he has never owned a gun.
Marshall was placed under arrest for three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was transported to the Lake County Jail. Bond was set at $6,000.
