Patricia Carolyn Jenkins, age 97, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family and her dog, Daisy on May 31, 2022 in Covington, Louisiana.
She was born in Evansville, Indiana on January 23, 1925 to the late John Logan Key and Mary Matilda Willet.
Pat lived for over 35 years in Leesburg and Mt. Dora, most recently at The Oaks at Waterman Village. In 2021 she made the decision to move to Louisiana to live with her son.
Pat embraced life. She was a graduate of the Protestant Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing, Evansville, Indiana and retired from Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Upon moving to Florida, Pat was an active member of the First Methodist Church of Tavares, worked in the office at the Scottish Highlands Retirement Community, volunteered at Florida Hospital Waterman, and managed The Hospice Hope Chest for over 20 years. Pat made a statement. Her trademarks were her array of flamboyant sunglasses and scarves; as well as her signature automobile, a PT Cruiser with Road Runner decals on its sides.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Leo Fenton Jenkins, and her son, Michael Leo Jenkins.
She is survived by her son, Jay Scott Jenkins, his wife, Brett Resseguet Jenkins, her daughter-in-law, Taeko Kondo Jenkins, grandsons, Jay Michael Jenkins, Charles Bret Jenkins, Benjamin Hideyo Jenkins, granddaughter-in-law, Emily Chase Jenkins and her great-grandchild, Regan Bret Jenkins.
Her wishes were that she be laid to rest with her husband, Leo Jenkins, at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
