A Leesburg woman was arrested early Sunday morning in Mount Dora on a charge of diving under the influence.

A Lake County deputy observed a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Elizabeth Ann Blackmore traveling 35 miles per hour in a 45 mph speed zone. The deputy began to follow the car and noted in his arrest report that the driver was having difficulty keeping the car in the proper lane. The deputy turned on his emergency lights and stopped the car near the intersection of Britt Road and Wolf Branch Road.

The deputy noted that Blackmore was having some difficulty finding her registration after giving him her driver’s license. He could smell the odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle and a male passenger told him that he had been drinking.

The deputy had Blackmore step out of the car. She had difficulty following the deputy’s directions. She agreed to perform standardized field sobriety exercises, but performed poorly, according to the arrest report. She provided breath samples that registered .166 and .158 blood alcohol content.

She was booked at the Lake County Jail on a charge of DUI. She was released after posting $1,000.
