A Lake County sheriff’s deputy arrested a Leesburg man who has been classified as a habitual traffic offender.

The deputy was on patrol Monday afternoon on Lakeview Drive when he observed a pickup truck with tinted windows. When he stopped the truck to check the window tint, the deputy asked the driver, 30-year-old Jason Patrick Butler, for his driver’s license.

When Butler could not provide a license, a records check showed his license has been suspended because of a DUI conviction and that he had several driver license suspensions since 2017 in both Florida and South Carolina.

Butler was transported to the Lake County Jail, where he was given a ticket for the tinted window violation and was booked on a third-degree felony charge of driving while license suspended. He was released after posting $10,000 bond.
