Leesburg man arrested after allegedly shooting neighbor in dispute over borrowed money

A Leesburg man has been arrested after allegedly shooting his neighbor in a dispute over borrowed money.

The victim, 40-year-old Anthony Craig Stevenson, was airlifted Thursday night to Orlando Regional Medical Center after he was shot by 67-year-old Lloyd Donnell Brown in the area of the 2100 block of Mara Court, according to the Leesburg Police Department.

Stevenson suffered wounds to his face, neck and chest consistent with being shot with bird shot from a shotgun.

The neighbors had been involved in a dispute over borrowed money, according to police. 

Brown, who resides at 2118 Tuskegee St., was arrested on charges of aggravated battery with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. 

He was released from the Lake County Jail shortly after 3 a.m. Friday after posting $20,000 bond.

He is due for arraignment on March 7 in Lake County Court.
