George Thomas Dickinson III

George Thomas Dickinson IIIGeorge Thomas Dickinson III, age 61 of Inverness, FL passed away January 11, 2022. George was born in Elmira, NY, on August 24, 1960, to the late George Thomas Dickinson, Jr. and Shirley Sims Dickinson. He moved from Honeoye Falls, NY, in 2015.

An Accountant by trade, he worked in various leadership positions in both the banking and not-for-profit sectors. He was an avid sports fan, loyally following the New York Giants and Baltimore Orioles among other teams. George also loved to play and coach baseball and basketball with his children. His time in the Honeoye Falls Volunteer Fire Department provided him with great memories and lasting friendships. George was a dedicated Catholic and attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where he volunteered weekly as an Usher.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 39 years, Mary (Cugell) Dickinson; 3 children: Garrett T. Dickinson and Meaghan C. Dickinson, both of Atlanta, GA; Christopher G. Dickinson, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 4 sisters: Brenda Page (Mike) of Horseheads, NY; Terry McGehee (Mark) and Kathy Mollett, both of Tampa, Fl; Bernadette Karam (Sam) of Himrod, NY; He was predeceased by a sister, Suzanne Gray. He also leaves behind 6 sisters-in-law: Pat Savion (John) of Inverness, FL; Eileen Cugell (Dave Tansek) of Leesburg, FL; Joan Cugell of Mt Pleasant, SC; Sheila Lewis (Paul) of Sunapee, NH; Catherine Chau (Richard) of West Palm Beach, FL; Peggy Cugell of Brooksfield, CT. He leaves 16 nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle George very much. Also, Sheila Cugell, George’s beloved mother-in-law will greatly miss George and his frequent boxes of Russell Stover chocolates!

The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Fr. Claudius Mganga, Celebrant. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to The American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116.
