Loyd Carey, 83, of Leesburg, passed away Monday, May 17, 2021.
Born in Sweetwater, Texas, he moved to Leesburg in 1995 from Miramar, FL. He worked for AT&T in communications. Loyd was a very active member of Liberty Baptist Church, Tavares. He served his country in the US Army.
Loyd is survived by his wife, Judy Carey, Leesburg, FL; son, Timothy (Sharon) Carey, Arlington, TX; 2 daughters, Karen Carey, Plano, TX, Sharon (Sammy) Smith, Prosper, TX; step-son, Ronald Kintz, Canal Winchester, OH; 5 step-daughters, Deborah (Tom) Torongeau, Landrum, SC, Linda Sadeski, Canal Winchester, OH, Sandra Rainey, Pembroke Pines, FL, Cathy (Sean) Carter, Fruitland Park, FL, Lisa Herod, Ocklawaha, FL; 2 sisters, Ruby Sellers, Plains, TX, Gladys Lamb, Georgetown, TX; grandchildren, Maggie Carey, Thomas (Michelle) Herod, Brittany Carter, Justin Carter Kristie (Gian) Pizzini, Charles (Gina) Lawrence; great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Emily, Gisella, Bella & Alana.
Services will be held at Liberty Baptist Church, Tavares on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 6:00 till 7:30 PM.
