Esther McDowell Spurlock passed away on March 16, 2021 at the South Campus Care Center in Leesburg, FL. She was born June 23, 1932 in East Liverpool, OH to the late James O. McDowell and Olive G. Pryor McDowell.
She attended East Liverpool High School and lived most of her life in Glenmoor.
Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Thurman Spurlock, and two sons; James Edward and Joseph Thurman Spurlock. She leaves her son, William David (Bill) Spurlock of Belleview, FL, her daughter, Karen Sue Spurlock Higgins and her husband Larry Higgins of Lady Lake, FL, eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
There will be a visitation and viewing on Monday, March 22, 2021, beginning at 9:30 AM, followed by a 10:30 AM service at the Whitney Road Baptist Church 32630 Whitney Rd, Leesburg, FL. Immediately following, Esther will be interred next to her husband at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
