Lake sheriff’s sergeant nabs Eustis man with gallon-sized bag of crystal meth

Emmanuel Travis Cazeau Jr.

A Eustis man was arrested last week on a litany of charges after a Lake County sheriff’s sergeant saw him run a stop sign while driving a vehicle with extremely dark tint on the windows.

Sgt. Cameron Crews was patrolling Tuesday in the area of Harbor Shores and County Road 44 when he stopped Emmanuel Travis Cazeau Jr. Crews discovered that Cazeau’s license was suspended and he had been caught multiple times in the past for the same offense, a sheriff’s office report states.

During the traffic stop, Crews saw a chamber block – a yellow piece of rubberized plastic that is used in a firearm to show that it is unloaded – on the floorboard. Cazeau was placed in handcuffs and Crews noticed a large bulge in this front pocket – more than $1,700 in cash and a knife containing residue, the report says.

Lake County sheriff’s Sgt. Cameron Crews found a gallon-sized bag of a substance identified as crystal methamphetamine, cell phones, $1,700 in cash and other items in Emmanuel Travis Cazeau Jr.’s vehicle during a recent traffic stop in the Harbor Shores area.

As the traffic stop investigation continued, several open beer bottles and spilled beer were found in the rear floorboard, as well as a few cell phones. A gallon-sized bag of a crystal substance also was located that was later determined to be crystal methamphetamine, the report says.

Cazeau was arrested for trafficking amounts of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and the driving charges. The drugs and money were seized as evidence. Cazeau was booked into the Lake County Jail on $27,000 bond and has since posted bail, the report says.
