A Leesburg man was arrested for possession of methamphetamine after being stopped on a bicycle with no lights.
A deputy traveling west in Eustis spotted 33-year-old Blake Loran Russell riding a bicycle without any working lights around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

He stopped Russell at County Road 44 and Emeralda Avenue, where Russell stated the lights “just went dead.” He was subsequently searched and admitted to having “a little bit of meth” on his person. The deputy then found a red plastic baggie of methamphetamine, the report said.
Russell was arrested on charge of possession of methamphetamine. He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $2,500 bond.
He was also arrested on the same charge in Nov. 2023 after falling behind on child support payments.
