A suspect has been arrested after allegedly stealing a fire department pickup truck from the Leesburg International Airport.
A lieutenant with the Leesburg Fire Department while on duty Tuesday at the LFD Station 63 which is located on the grounds of the airport observed a man, later identified as 50-year-old Thomas Michael Sisson of Leesburg, driving a LFD pickup truck around the secured fenced in area of the airport. The lieutenant called the police dispatcher shortly before 6 p.m. When the police arrived they were informed that Sisson had fled the airport in a westerly direction.

The police began searching the area and located Sisson approximately 1.1 miles from the airport. He was wearing clothes which matched the description given by the lieutenant who positively identified Sisson as the man who was driving the truck in the secured area of the airport. After being given his Miranda Rights Sisson told the officers that he had entered the auto-bay area of the fire station through an open door and had walked through the station and out a door where he saw the truck. He saw the keys were in the truck. He started the truck and drove it into a westbound area of the airport. When he became lost he returned to the area where he first found the truck, got out and fled the area by climbing over a chain linked fence.
Sisson was charged with burglary to an occupied structure-no forced entry, theft of a vehicle and trespass -airport. Bond has been set at $15,000.
Earlier this year, Sisson was arrested after allegedly stealing a can of Twisted Tea from a Circle K.
