A Brandon man was arrested for the theft of a can of Twisted Tea from Circle K.

An employee of Circle K, located at 1331 W North Blvd., saw 50-year-old Thomas Michael Sisson walk into the cooler around 6:10 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. He then picked up two beers and put them in a black pouch.

He proceeded to approach the counter with a banana to buy. The employee questioned him about the beers, and he pulled out only one. The employee was in the process of putting the beer back when Sisson grabbed a $2.89 can of Twisted Tea and told her to call the police, which she did, the report said.

Sisson stayed in front of the gas station, where he began to drink the beer. He was still drinking when officers arrived on scene and arrested him, the report said.

The Virginia native was charged with retail theft and booked at the Lake County Jail. He was released after posting $500 bond.
