During this process, the deputy checked the status of his driver’s license and learned he had only an ID. His license had been revoked on June 25, 2014, as a habitual traffic violator for 60 months. It had been revoked for the same offense on June 30, 2022, for another 60 months, and for 10 years for DUI on June 30, 2022. He also had many suspensions, the report said.

Phillips was charged with driving while license revoked (habitual offender) along with the warrant. He was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $5,000 bond.
