Two suspects have been arrested in the brutal slaying of an 87-year-old man who was shot in his car at a gas station in Leesburg.
On Sunday, Oct. 6, at about 9:30 p.m., Leesburg Police Department detectives were notified that 87-year-old Leesburg resident Clarence Ervin passed away from injuries he suffered on Sept. 28. His death was not immediately released due to pending next of kin notification(s) and active efforts to locate the suspects involved.
Following the victim’s death, 22-year-old Kenneth Dalon Bailey of Leesburg and 22-year-old Craig Anthony Stevenson Jr. of Leesburg were both arrested Friday evening and charged with capital murder and aggravated battery (firearm) on a person over 65. The third person involved has also been identified, and detectives are currently working with the State Attorney’s Office to obtain an arrest warrant for that suspect.
On the afternoon of Sept. 28, the Leesburg Police Department responded to a shooting at Citgo gas station, located at 2101 W.
