87-year-old shot at gas station in Leesburg

An 87-year-old was shot in his car Saturday afternoon at a gas station in Leesburg.

The Leesburg Police Department at 2:40 p.m. responded to a shooting at the Citgo gas station located at 2101 W Main St.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that three suspects had approached a vehicle. Two suspects remained on the passenger side while one approached the driver, who was seated inside. A confrontation ensued, resulting in the driver being shot by the suspect.

The suspects fled the scene on foot. Officers administered first aid to the 87-year-old victim, who was subsequently transported to the hospital and underwent surgery Saturday night.
