Isabel Teresa Mendez Santaella, age 60, from Caracas Venezuela, peacefully passed away on April 28, 2024, in her home surrounded by her husband, Jose Farhat, her son Sebastian Farhat Mendez, and her daughter Valentina Farhat Mendez.

Isabel was born June 9, 1963, to Isabel Santaella and Emilio Mendez in Caracas, Venezuela. She was a devoted mother, wife, sister, and friend. She would bring light and joy to everyone who knows her, just her presence would make you feel safe and in peace. She loved to help others and had such an incredible empathy which would let her to spend most of her time helping others as a CNA(Certified Nursing Assistant) in the United States of America.

In Venezuela, she had a natural products store in which she would spend most of her days guiding and helping her clients with alternatives to their health issues; most of the time she would just listen to her clients and offer them a shelter to vent and feel understood. Her favorite hobby was making jewelry and creating beautiful pieces for herself and her friends, She got so good at it that started to sell her creations as well in the store that she owned.

Her favorite Patron was Archangel Michael and Saint Jose Gregorio Hernandez, in which names she would bless her children every time they left the house. Isabel was the motor of her family, she would guide them and push them to be better every day, she taught them to not get settled and to always look for more opportunities to grow. She was the reason her family moved to the United States back in 2017 in hope for a better future.

She was made of love, honesty, joy, wisdom, responsibility and empathy; values that she will transmit to everyone. She graduated from Pedro Emilio Coll High School in Caracas, in 1979 and then pursued her colleague degree in Economics at Universidad Central de Venezuela in which she graduated in 1990. She was a generous soul, who cherished her time with her family and friends. Isabel and her family enjoyed memorable vacations every year in January and she will plan them with excitement and happiness. She loved to travel and visit a different place every time and her favorite memories were in her vacations in Puerto Piritu, Naiguata, Matalarga and Boca de Aroa. When you thought of Isabel, you thought of kindness, joy, generosity, and love.

Left to celebrate her life are her loving children and husband, but also her sisters Iraima Mendez, and Marines Mendez, her brother Gerardo Mendez, and her loving nephews Reynaldo Gil, Domingo Jose Gil, and Gerardo Moises Mendez.

Isabel is preceded in death by her loving mother, Isabel, who was the stepstone of the house and the heart of the family, her father Emilio Mendez, who was the most caring and humble father that someone could ask for and her brother Emilio Vicente.
