Chick-fil-A will open its first standalone, drive-thru location in Leesburg later this week.
The fast food restaurant will open its doors at 9925 US Highway 441 on Thursday, April 25. The new location is situated between Lake Sumter State College and Lake Square Mall in Leesburg.
The building has been under construction for several months at the site, which was formerly occupied by Mojo’s Grill.
Although there are other Chick-fil-A locations nearby, they are located in Mount Dora and The Villages, well outside of the local area. There are additional Chick-fil-A locations in Clermont, Apopka, and Winter Garden, among other local municipalities.
The chicken franchise has been steadily expanding throughout the tri-county area. At the end of last year, a new Chick-fil-A opened along State Road 200 in Ocala.

UPDATE: A previous version of this story incorrectly identified the new Chick-fil-A in Leesburg as the first in the city. The first Chick-fil-A in Leesburg was located at 10401 US Highway 441, within the mall.
