Thomas Edison David passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the age of 92. Ed was born in Madrid, Alabama, on September 9, 1931.

Ed was drafted by the Army in 1951, and served in the Korean War. After returning home from the military, he used his GI Bill to enroll at Florida State University earning a degree in Public Administration. Later he continued his education by earning a Master’s Degree.

In 1956, he secured a position with the State of Florida Probation and Parole Commission, serving Lake, Sumter, Citrus and Hernando Counties. Some years later he transferred to Panama City, Florida, as the Circuit Administrator of North Florida Department of Corrections (probation and parole). He retired in December of 1993, after 36.5 years of service.

Ed is preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Ruth David. He is survived by his son, Gregory Wayne David, (Tavares, FL); three grandchildren, Zachary Wayne David (Orlando, FL); Grant Wayne David and Danica Ann David, both of Tavares, Florida; and one brother, Robert David, of Spring Hill, Florida.

A small military service will be held at Florida National Cemetery located in Bushnell, Florida, on a date not yet determined.
