Peggy Ann Shafar Thompson

Peggy Ann Shafar Thompson of Leesburg, Florida passed away on March 25, 2024 at the age of 60. She was born in lowa on September 28, 1963 to parents Joan and Donald Shafar.
She was a wonderful and remarkable woman who shined light on everyone she met. She had a beautiful singing voice that she used in many ways to bring joy to those who heard her and sang with her. She enjoyed sewing and all things crafting, and spread her talent with everyone she loved, and more. She was an incredible baker, always sharing her treats generously. Grandma’s special tea parties were always a hit. Above all, she loved spending time with her family the most.
She is survived by her soulmate and husband Hugh Thompson of 20 years, her children Benjamin Newton (Mandy), Joseph Newton (Danielle), and Emily Newton (Veronica), and her grandchildren DeLaney, Graysen, Kennedy, Aubriella, Hurston, and Aydalyn.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Beyers Funeral Home, 1123 W. Main St, Leesburg, FL 34748. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM. Interment to follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
