Leon “Spike” Spychalski
February 20, 1928 – March 8, 2024
On Friday March 8, 2024 Leon “Spike” Spychalski passed away at the age of 95.
Leon was born in Newark, NJ on February 20, 1929. He was married to Rose from 1953 until her death in 2020 almost 67 years. Together they had 3 children, Mark Spychalski, Gary Spychalski and his wife Diane and Joan Fidalgo. He has 3 Grandchildren Andrew Spychalski, Devon Fidalgo and Garrett Fidalgo.
Leon was a World War II veteran who served in Germany. He joined the Knights of Columbus in 1959, and was a 4th Degree Knight. He was also a Scout Leader in the 1960’s and 70’s. He has been retired since 1991 and in 2006 moved to Florida. Spike is now with his wife Rose in Heaven. He will be laid to rest with Rose in Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell.
