Visitor at Pennbrooke Fairways airlifted after alligator attack

A visitor to Pennbrooke Fairways was airlifted for emergency medical treatment after an alligator attack at the 55+ golf community in Leesburg.

The visitor was reportedly bitten this past weekend on the forearm and hand.

He was airlifted the UF Health-Shands Hospital in Gainesville.

There have been reports of large and aggressive alligators at Pennbrooke Fairways.

Central Florida will soon be entering alligator courtship season, a time when alligators become more active.
