Timothy J. Patz

Tim Patz, 55, of Mount Dora, Florida passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024.
Born to the late Larry L. Patz and Ruth (Freeman Patz) Gross, in Manistique, MI, he moved to Florida as a child and lived in Lake County since 1982. Tim was a graduate of Tavares High School and Stetson University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Art. He was a very talented sculptor, artist, and avid gardener. He was also a dedicated teacher, educating students at Piedmont Lakes Middle School in Apopka, FL.
Tim is survived by his wife of nearly 25 years, Iris Pieterson; mother, Ruth Gross of Sudbury, MA; brother, Daryl (Judy) Patz of Astatula, FL; sister, Ruthanne (Christian) Madsen of Westford, MA; sisters-in-law, Aysha (Clint) Leonard, Wendy (Lionel) Marping, Sherien Pieterson, and Lionola Pieterson, all from Johannesburg, South Africa; and sixteen nieces and nephews.
Tim’s intelligence and humor will be missed. A memorial service will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis, FL on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 10:00 am.
