A deputy responded to an argument in progress involving 40-year-old Chadrick Devour Hill at 11939 Holland Drive around 12:34 p.m. Friday, according to an incident report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Department.

Upon arrival, the deputy met with the male victim who advised he was on the property to repossess an RV that was behind on payments out of Tennessee. He came to the residence searching for the person responsible for missing payments on a travel trailer with a GPS attached on the property, the report said.

When the victim arrived, he spoke with a woman and explained he was there looking for an individual that was renting the trailer. He then walked to the front of the trailer to check the VIN and confirmed it was the one he was searching for. He returned to the woman and met with Hill, the report said.

Both Hill and the woman stated they did not know the individual that was renting the trailer the victim was looking at. An argument began, and Hill told him to get off the property and to further call law enforcement, the report said.

The victim got back into his vehicle, but Hill complained he did not have room to leave the property. He asked the victim to move his vehicle over to which he complied. Hill then had the room to drive by, the report said.

The victim proceeded to call his superiors to inform them of the situation with the rental, during which Hill became angry because the victim did not move his truck far enough over. He began yelling, picked up a large cinder block and threw it in the air. It struck the driver’s side window of the victim’s truck that he actively sat in. As a result, the victim backed off the property and waited for law enforcement to arrive, the report said.

The deputy next interviewed Hill where he was asked for his recollection of the incident. He advised “the same thing he told you” before walking back onto the property. After further speaking with the victim, the deputy once again talked to Hill as he sat in a chair on the property, the report said.

Hill was asked if he wanted to write a statement, but he said no. He advised that the conversation was recorded on the officer’s body camera and that everything he stated was the truth. He admitted to throwing the cinderblock, however stated that he just threw it in the air, and it just so happened to land on the windshield.

Hill was arrested on charges of throwing a deadly missile at an occupied vehicle and criminal mischief. He was transported to the Lake County Jail and released after posting $25,000 bond.
