Eva Jo Homuth, age 89, passed away on February 3, 2024 surrounded by family.

Eva was born on December 11, 1934 in Rosebud, AR to Gladys Baldridge and Roger Ivy. Eva grew up in California where she was very close to her aunts, uncles and many cousins. It was in California, that Eva met the love of her life, Chuck. They were married on April 23, 1955, while Chuck was serving in the Air Force.

After Chuck’s service with the Air Force, Eva moved to Wisconsin with him to help run his family’s dairy farm. Whether on the farm, at the local nursing home as the activity director, or in her many years of service at Kmart, she was a lifelong hard worker. Eva was a great cook and served more meals than can be counted to those who were lucky to know her. She also enjoyed sewing and gardening, often seen in her yard raking, and pulling weeds. She was welcoming and genuine to anyone that crossed her path, and the most loving and selfless person, always putting others first. Eva loved her family and enjoyed every moment she was able to spend with them.

She will be missed and lovingly remembered her three children, son Jerry Homuth, daughters Carolyn Homuth and Nikki (Scott) Gokey, 5 grandchildren, Gabrielle Busseni, Holly (Branden) Gokey, Hunter, Nevaeh, and Emily Gokey, 2 great grandchildren, Brock and Holden Mraz, her two dogs, Molly and Lou, sister-in-law Kay Cherrier and many nieces, nephews and life-long friends. Eva was preceded in death by her husband Chuck, parents, aunts, uncles and several cousins, in-laws Jeanette and Vern Homb, Arlene Homuth, and Ronald Cherrier.

A celebration of Eva’s life is planned for Saturday February 17, 2024 at Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, 226 E. Burleigh Boulevard, Tavares, FL. Visitation will start at 12:30 followed by a memorial service at 1:30. A reception will follow immediately after at Jeannie’s II, 505 West Main Street, Tavares, FL.
