Alleged killer and sister indicted in shooting death of Leesburg man

A Leesburg man has been indicted for murder and his sister is being charged as an accessory after the fact.

Kevin Harrison, 20, was charged with first degree murder for the shooting death of 37-year-old Lekendre Hall on Dec. 27. Harrison’s sister 22-year-old Destiny Pendleton was charged with tampering with evidence as well as being an accessory after the fact in Hall’s murder.

The Leesburg police were called to the 1900 block of West Main Street when neighbors called regarding shots fired. The officers found Hall on the ground and saw Pendleton near Hall who was laying on the ground. Witnesses told the police that Harrison had fled the scene shortly after shooting Hall.

The police allege that Pendleton ran when she saw the them. She jumped a fence, and injured her hip in the fall. Officers were able to arrest her at the scene. While doing a quick pat-down search of Pendlelton and they felt items in her pocket. She told the officers that the items were shell casings. She was transported to a hospital for medical clearance. When she was searched at the hospital Pendleton said she did not have any shell casings. A search was done and three casings were found in her underwear. An X-ray showed one shell cases was inside her body. Medical personnel were able to remove the fourth shell casing.

Police on the scene of the shooting learned that the victim was involved in an argument Pendleton who called her brother for assistance. When Harrison, arrived the argument escalated and he shot the victim. Harrison, who was 19 at the time of the shooting, surrendered to police on Dec. 29.

He has a previous domestic battery and drug possession convictions.

Pendleton has several criminal convictions for drugs and resisting arrest.

“The Fifth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office emphasizes its commitment to seeking justice in this case. The charges brought against Kevin Harrison and Destiny Pendleton reflect the serious nature of their alleged involvement in the tragic death of Lekendre Hall,” said State Attorney William Gladson.
