Robert Edward Thornburg, 82, of Umatilla, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

He was born in Hicksville, Ohio, then moved to Eustis, Florida in 1955 and then to Umatilla, Florida in 1995. He was a life-member of the Lake County Airboat Club. Over the course of his life, Ed was a truck driver, a beekeeper and a carpenter, helping build many houses and businesses in the area. He was also an avid woodworker, creating many heirloom pieces for family members to cherish. Ed had a great love of the outdoors, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Judy Page Thornburg, Umatilla, FL; daughter, Ann (Michael Jewett) Thornburg, Murphy, NC; step-daughter, Jennifer (David) Langley, Augusta, GA; granddaughter, Danielle Jones; 3 step-granddaughters, Allison, Emily & Rachael Langley and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon Thornburg; step-son, Kevin Latham; grandson, Kyle VandeMark.
