Leesburg commissioners will hold an organizational meeting at 5 p.m. Monday at City Hall
The city charter requires that the commission elect a mayor and mayor pro-tem during the first commission meeting in January. Mayor Jimmy Burry was elected by his fellow commissioners last January and Commissioner Jay Connell was elected as mayor pro-tem.
The commissioners will also appoint commissioners and citizens to the following boards and organizations:
Personnel Committee
Lake Community Action Agency, Inc. Board of Directors
Florida League of Cities
Metropolitan Planning Organization
St. John’s River Water Management District Liaison
Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA)
Florida Municipal Electric Association (FEMA)
Florida Municipal Power Agency Policy Makers Liaison Committee
Leesburg Center for the Arts
Airport Advisory Board
Leesburg Public Art Advisory Board
Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
