Have you ever wondered what it would be like to kayak in Florida? The Friends of Lake Griffin State Park are offering a learn to kayak class at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3 and have announced kayak tour dates in the park.
The Kayak 101 classes includes information on kayak equipment, how to kayak and safety with practice on the water. The class runs from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. and costs $35. Registration can be made at Kayak 101 Class (1/3)
ECO Tours explore the Dead Marsh River with certified Florida Paddle Guides. Paddlers will experience the wonder of this important wetlands ecosystem as we look for and identify the many wading and flying birds, land-based and aquatic plants, massive trees, and other native and exotic species. Learn the truth about alligators, an often misunderstood resident of this area. The $30 tour fee includes a sit kayak and all necessary equipment. ECO Tours will be held on these dates:

At 5:45 p.m. Jan 25, guides will lead a Moonlight Tour for $40 which will include kayak, safety equipment and lights. Paddlers will have the chance to watch the sunset while on the water at watch the wetland inhabitants emerge for the night.
