Wilma Frances Braun, 94, died on December 16, 2023 at her home in Leesburg, Florida.

She was born in Olean, New York on July 18, 1929; daughter of James W. and Laura W. Lycett. She graduated from Olean High School in Olean, New York and moved to St. Petersburg, Florida with her family in 1946. She attended St. Petersburg Junior College where she met her husband of 74 years, Robert M. Braun. Prior to becoming a full-time mother and homemaker, she was employed with a major construction company in St. Petersburg, Florida as an Accountant and Secretary.

In 1954 she moved with her family to Leesburg, Florida when her husband established Besco Electric Supply Company where she served as Treasurer and Director. She was an active member of the Episcopal churches’ women’s organizations in both St. James Episcopal Church of Leesburg and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church of Fruitland Park. She enjoyed traveling worldwide with her husband, visiting over seventy countries in their lifetime.

She is survived by sons; Douglas (Donna) of Clermont, Florida, Stephen (Susan) of Leesburg, Florida, Andrew (Laura) of The Villages, Florida, daughter; Elizabeth A. (William) Suber of Portsmouth, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Braun and sister Patricia M. Lycett.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on December 30, at the Mote-Morris House in Leesburg, Florida.
