Police responded to an undisclosed Leesburg residence regarding a stabbing around 6:07 p.m. Nov. 25 according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. The caller advised that her son, later identified as 40-year-old Lee Woodcock, stabbed a male victim in the leg.

Upon arrival, the officers met with the victim in the living room of the residence. He was sitting down using a towel to put pressure on the stab wound, which was bleeding profusely. One of the officers immediately applied a tourniquet just above the wound to stop the bleeding, the report said.

Once the tourniquet was on and the bleeding subdued, officers were able to study the wound located just above the victim’s right knee about two inches away from his femoral artery. It was about one and a half inches wide and seemed to extend deep within his leg. Emergency Medical Services then arrived on scene and took the victim to Leesburg Regional Hospital, the report said.

Woodcock’s mother stated there was a disagreement between the victim and her son. The victim smacked him in the face, and she got in between the two subjects to separate them. The victim pushed her out of the way, and Woodcock stated “if you push my mother again, I will stab you.” He then stabbed the victim in the leg with a pocketknife, and his mother called law enforcement, the report said.

She also stated that Woodcock is bipolar and had not been taking his medication, the report said.

The pocketknife was found on the living room table. It was a black multitool with a blade about three inches long, the report said.

Officers then asked Woodcock what happened. He stated that he was visiting his mother’s residence to do some yard work. He did not have any marijuana, and the victim told him that he was going to give him some to smoke after he finished the yard work, the report said.

An argument occurred between the two, which led to the victim pushing Woodcock. The victim pushed Woodcock’s mother, and Woodcock told the victim if he pushed his mother again, he was going to stab him. Woodcock alleged that he did it again to antagonize him, so he stabbed him with a pocketknife. He held that he did it to protect his mother, the report said.

One of the officers later contacted the victim at the hospital. He stated there was an argument between him and Woodcock, and he smacked Woodcock on his head. He in turn stabbed the victim in the leg. The victim then sat down to apply pressure to the wound until law enforcement arrived. He was disoriented while recounting the details due to the blood loss, the report said.

Additionally, there was no injury to Woodcock’s body. He was also uncooperative and combative with officers on the scene, the report said.

Woodcock was ultimately arrested and charged with domestic battery with a deadly weapon. The New York native was transported to the Lake County Jail with bond set at $25,000.
