Deputies with the warrants unit arrived at 860 W Woodward Avenue regarding a Crimeline tip on 33-year-old Justin McMahan around 11:57 a.m. Thursday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

McMahan had two active warrants out of Seminole County for failing to appear in court. The charges were for possession of cocaine and operating a motor vehicle while his license was suspended, cancelled or revoked, the report said.

Upon arrival at the residence, one of the deputies spotted a man inside who would not come to the front door once commands were given. This man was identified as McMahan, who they knew had an active felony warrant. He was then given more commands to leave the residence, the report said.

Instead of doing so, McMahan fled to the east of the residence. Three deputies and a canine were able to get inside the residence through an open bedroom window on the east side. McMahan was found hiding in the bathroom shortly after. He was again commanded to exit but refused, so the canine was used to help take him into custody, the report said.

McMahan was charged for the warrants in addition to resisting an officer without violence. After being medically cleared by EMS, he was transported to the Lake County Jail with bond set at $3,000.
