Lake County will unveil its new Veterans Wall in front of the Lake County Administration Building, located at 315 W. Main St. in Tavares. This exciting event will take place on Friday, Nov. 10, at 9 a.m. in honor of the observed Veterans Day holiday.
Lake County invites the public to attend this event as a meaningful way to honor and celebrate the exceptional men and women who have dedicated their lives to the cause of freedom. In addition to the unveiling, the event will include speeches from local leaders, a keynote address by Florida Agricultural Commissioner Wilton Simpson, and an appearance by the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association.
“Veterans Day holds a special place in the hearts of Americans, as it offers a solemn opportunity to express our profound gratitude and respect to those who have defended the principles upon which our nation was founded,” said Kirby Smith, Chairman of the Lake County Board of County Commissioners. “The Veterans Wall will stand as a lasting testament to their valor and sacrifice, reminding all who pass by of the debt of gratitude we owe to these heroes.”Â
Lake County residents are invited to honor and remember local servicemen and women by entering a veteran’s name for display on the Lake County Veterans Wall. The veteran must have been a Lake County resident and submissions require approval. To submit a name or for more information, visit:Â https://lakecountyfl.gov/veterans-services/wall.
